Development of leadership in students

How to adjust mindset of the children to act rightly in the current scenario?

Leadership is a set of skills that anyone can acquire at any level.

It's purely a skill of dedication, dictation, direction and domination.

Responsible leadership depends upon:

• Flexible behavior
• The ability to diagnose what behaviors are needed at a particular time in order for the group to function most efficiently.
• The ability to fulfill these behaviors or to get other members to fulfill them.

Why classroom:

A classroom is a group of learners.

Generally speaking, learning groups have at least two basic objectives:

To complete learning tasks

To maintain positive and effective relationships among group members.

Leadership consists of actions that help the group to complete its tasks successfully and maintain effective working relationships among its members.

By this way,

A student gets master the fundamental aspects, such as:

Communication skills.
Decision-making skills.
Organizing skills.
Action planning.
Strategic thinking and
Risk management.

We should have some objectives for Students' leadership:

Their aim is:

* Students' leadership assume responsibility for serving others in order to achieve the mission of the team.

* They attempt to lead by example and encourage other team members to develop positively as individuals.

* They embrace the highest standards of loyalty, service and integrity and act in a manner consistent with the tradition and values of our community.

And our expectation is that:

We look for leaders who will be authentic, who will listen to people and who are imbued with a pervading drive to serve others before themselves.

We admire those who can personalise the collective experience for all of us.

How do Students' leader achieve
this impact without disturbing learning?

• By setting directions – charting a clear
course that everyone
understands, establishing high expectations and using
data to track progress and performance.
• By developing people – providing
teachers and others in the system with
the necessary support and training to
succeed.
• By supporting them to work – ensuring that the entire conditions  of schools fully supports the process.

Learning is first.

Where a leader is prepared, there is a goal created; a team is formed, a new
relationship is developed.

We Look forward to building and improving the following qualities of student leaders.

Think for the future, learns from the past, and acts in the now.  
Great leaders reflect on past events to plan for future events.  However, planning and reflecting is not as important as the activities accomplished in the present.

Influence others to participate.
Leaders truly welcomes participation and input from others, and encourages members to participate and contribute to group activities.

Able to deal with and overcome failures.
 A good leader does not get angered at others or sulk in self doubt when things do not go as planned.  

SMART goal planner.  Remember to align group goals with real results in mind.  Understand the importance of setting goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound.  

Push oneself to learn more, work harder, and compete for the greater good.
Seek the challenge and opportunity to grasp responsibility for oneself and advocate for others.

Delegate to all members.
The importance of spreading the workload must be realized because one person cannot do everything.

Open to working with all channels.  
Failing to build relationships and work with alternative channels will stall out many initiatives before they start.

Listen before speaking.
Listening before responding increases group rapport and opens up the door for learning.

Continually asks questions.
It is not possible to know everything.  Curiosity and  inquisitiveness are key to learning and developing as a leader.

Know the rules.
When in a role that is guided by restrictions and laws, it is vital to make yourself aware of them.
