Sustainable development goals (SDG) at school level. ¶ Dr Rukshana, Psychologist, The National UN Volunteer. What are Implications of SDG in human life?   Target: Next  and Nextdoor generations. SDG means: Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. When human beings strive for enhanced life conditions without diminishing the meaning of life itself - namely our children's future - we call this development sustainable. Sustainable development is often thought to have three components: environment, society, and economy. The well-being of these three areas is intertwined, not separate. Implications and features are: • to maintain the overall quality of life; • to maintain continuing access to natural resources; • to avoid lasting environmental damage; • to consider as sustainable a development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the abil...

Q:  " Manipulative report cards--Malpractice to retain admissions " ASHOK KUMAR-UNV "why so called branded schools , after charging fee since 12 years, suddenly told parents in classes 9 and 11 that we can't continue with your child in board classes. This is the case of malpractices in education by preparing manipulative report cards to please parents in home exams till class 8, this starts from very begining when teacher practice worksheet with students and take test, obviously they scored 20/20in all UT's, parents starts ignoring the weakness and schools happy with retaining students with them. In some cases parents know that their child doesn't deserve full Marks but they happy to see the report card. This game of 20/20 is promoting rote learning, parents and teachers should be honest to each other and dare to share the TRUTH with each other. Please save these children from rat race. __________________________________ ◼Solution to the a...

Trash to Treasure

Image
Trash to Treasure When our house is untidy, we clean it. When our body is dirty, we wash it. Even when we get an e-mail that is no longer useful to us, we delete it. It is a basic human instinct to discard waste. Feelings of bitterness, hatred, anger and regret are not only useless, but they are also harmful to us. If left unattended, just like trash, they will rot, turn venomous and become hazardous to our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Keeping the same in mind let us start with the future of nation i.e. our little ones. Life skills is a mandatory subject in schools that focuses on various values of life. Our objective should not be confined to the teaching of the prescribed syllabus given in the books, but to inculcate those values in the students. Kindness, Politeness, Courtesy, Empathy, Compassion and Forgiveness should not be neglected. As the students are exposed to various negative values in our society, so it’s the ethical duty of teachers alo...

Image
SUCCESSFUL STRATEGICLEADERSHIP SATISFIES THE STAKEHOLDERS. Effective education leadership makes a difference in improving learning. There’s no thing new or especially controversial about that idea. What’s far less clear, even after several decades of school renewal efforts, is just how leadership matters, how important those effects are in promoting the learning of all children, and what the essential ingredients of successful leadership are. Lacking solid evidence to answer these questions, those who have sought to make the case for greater attention and investment in leadership as a path way for large-scale education improvement have had to rely more on faith than fact Especially for struggling students, smaller schools increase the chances of their attendance and schoolwork being monitored. Smaller schools also increase the likelihood of students having a close, ongoing relationship with at least one other significant adult in the school, an important antidote to dropping ...
